When to Neuter

Rabbitt

Canine
Bitches: Spey from 6 months of age
Dogs: Castrate from 6 months of age

Feline
Queens: Spey at 5 to 6 months of age
Toms: Castrate at 5 to 6 months of age

Rabbits
Does: Spey at 6 months of age
Bucks: Castrate at 6 months of age, can be done earlier (sexual maturity 4 months onwards) if mixing with females.

Guinea Pigs
Sows: Spey at 6 months of age
Boars: Castrate at 6 months of age, can be done earlier (sexual maturity 9 to 10 weeks)
if mixing with females.

Ferrets
Jills: Spey at 6 to 9 months of age before first oestrus (1st March after birth)
Hobs: Due to the risk of Adrenal Disease we do not recommend surgical neutering of Ferrets and instead advise Deslorelin implants.
