Cardiology – Paul Smith
BVetMed DVC MRCVS – RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology

Paul graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 1997. He spent a year in first opinion practice before completing a junior clinical training scholarship in ‘Small Animal Medicine and Surgery’ and then a three year senior clinical training scholarship in ‘Veterinary Cardiopulmonary Medicine’ at the R(D)SVS, The University of Edinburgh. His main areas of interest are clinical cardiopulmonary medicine and interventional cardiology. Since completing his residency he has been working in private referral practice. He recently set up an ambulatory referral service for dogs and cats with cardiopulmonary disease and runs a clinic at Riverside Veterinary Group, Corringham once per month.

Veterinary Dermatology Consultancy

Ewan Ferguson graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh in 1982 and spent several years in companion animal practice in Ealing and later, Wanstead with the Goddard Veterinary Group. He joined the Royal Veterinary College in 1990, obtaining the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology in 1993 and entry to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Specialist Register. He has given numerous presentations at local, national, European and World meetings in the last 16 years and contributed to the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Manuals. He is a past Secretary of the British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group, past RCVS Dermatology Board member and past Chief Examiner for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology.

He is currently self-employed and runs a secondary and tertiary clinical referral service based at a number of multidisciplinary specialist veterinary clinics around London and the Southeast of England. As a visiting Clinical Specialist, he contributes to the Dermatology referral service at the Royal Veterinary College Together these posts make him one of the few full time clinical veterinary dermatologists in the United Kingdom. He has particular interests in canine atopy, immunotherapy, endocrinology and off piste skiing.  


Internal Medicine – Andria Cauvin


Andria qualified in 1992 from Glasgow University. After a short spell in general practice she returned to Glasgow University where she gained a certificate in Small Animal Radiology. She then became a resident at the Royal Veterinary College in London where she gained her Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2003. She is an RCVS recognised specialist in Small Animal Medicine. Andria has a broad experience of referral work in the field of he small animal medicine. The last seven years Andria was the head of internal medicine of a referral centre in south Essex.

Andria is offering specialist consultations for medical cases in our clinics as well as advanced diagnostic tests such as endoscopy, ultrasound and MRI.

Opthalmology – Dr David L Williams


From the day that he qualified as a vet from Cambridge University David knew that he wanted to devote his professional life to ophthalmology. He worked at the Animal Health Trust gaining his certificate in veterinary ophthalmology from there he moved to a PhD at the Royal Veterinary College. After further work at the AHT he moved back to Cambridge Vet School where he runs the eye clinic and teaches at St John’s College. He has particular interests in ocular immunology, cataract epidemiology and exotic animal ophthalmology with over fifty research papers and three books in these subjects. He deals with all pets from dogs, cats and horses to African grey parrots, and even Zebrafish! David has a family with three teenage sons and enjoys walking and working with the youth group in his local church.  

Antonis_photoSurgery – Antonis Dimitriou


Antonis graduated in Greece in 2003, he then completed a one year internship in internal medicine and dermatology. He joined our group in 2004 as manager of the Wellcare Veterinary Centre, located in Laindon. He gained his RCVS certificate in surgery in 2010.

Antonis likes all aspects of surgery, particularly orthopaedics and wound reconstruction. He can perform a variety of procedures such as Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA), fracture repairs and skin graft and is regularly undertaking fracture repairs and skin grafts.

Antonis also accepts referrals from practices outside of the group.
